Is this a unique install or a special stove....in any case very cool how it leaves the counter top flat.

I saw them in a bunch of the new trailers on display at the PA Horse Expo in Feb. I think they look pretty cool & functional, too. But I haven't seen them for sale on the RV supplies web sites, so I don't know where they're coming from, either.

I couldn't open up the link on Facebook of the picture. We had a Platinum with an Outlaw coversion, and, our cooktop was under the countertop. It takes out the top drawer, however. We never use the one in our Exiss now, and,it's in the way.I wish it wasn't there at all!

One of my riding pals has one very similar to that in her trailer. Except, hers is covered with cardboard and duct tape after getting a crack in it from a bag of groceries getting dropped on it!

I'd guess it doesn't look near as cool this way :)

I agree if I ever ordered a trailer I wouldn't have the cooktop put in.  Most anything we need to cook can be done in the microwave or outside on the grill.  We have never used the one in our trailer but I did light it to see if it worked and it heated the trailer up very quickly.

Our previous trailer had one like that. It wa nice to keep the counter flat, but found that we could only use smaller pots or pans. We ere afraid that we would melt the knobs if we put a bigger cooking utensil on it.

I guess I'm the exception here. I use my double burner cooktop everytime we camp where meals aren't provided. Spaghetti, hamburger helper, hard boiled eggs and the like just doesn't taste as good in the microwave.

I have the old fashioned type of cooktop though that has the lid that raises up. I wish I had an oven too or a convection microwave.... I'd make chocolate chip cookies after a hard days ride.

I"m probably the exception as the main reason we don't use ours is: my husband doesn't want it to smell up the trailer interior after cooking something.Really roughing it here, aren't we??

I like my countertop to be flat since I rarely use my cooktop in my LQ trailer. It is recessed so you really don't even know it is there most of the time. I have corian countertops so I usually keep a handtowel laid over it so spills don't get down in the cracks. Ever now and then, I use it to boil water if I am dry camping and I am up to early to start the generator. When looking at new trailers, a deal breaker for me is a wood box sitting over the top of the cook stove! I would rather not have one at all than have that box cover!

Was it a special stove or just  a regular rv stove installed a little deeper in the counter with no top in it?

I cant open Facebook links at work so will look later but wanted to say our Cherokee Dream Catcher has a recessed cook top and we love it. Gives us full counter space if not cooking. Raise the lid to cook and it keeps grease, etc. from splattering onto the window blinds behind the stove. That top is easy to wipe off. We use our cook top about every time we camp. I dont particularly like microwave food. We grill alot but if its bad weather we can cook inside. I also use it to heat water for coffee singles, hot tea and hot cocoa. When at a competition I dont always want to crank the gen at 5 AM. I agree I would not want the cook top with the box cover on it so when we looked for a trailer the recessed cooktop was on the must have list.

I use my cooktop all the time.  Lots of places where I camp I don't have electricity for the microwave and I haven't invested in a generator yet.  When I do have electricity, I have a portable toaster oven, and I have made cookies and biscuits.  Biscuits and gravy is a good filling breakfast when you are camping.
