Actually, I'm going underneath the braces. I'm using again, 2x4's (its a wood floor)to brace the tanks against. For straps, I used the angled pieces of steel with the steel bolted through the floor. Its like straps. I essentially mimicked my FIL's 4-Star tank set up.

Well, I was "just" going to build basically a box and sit the pan right down inside of it. I did that and, well, the bottom of the pan is simply not strong enough to handle my body weight (I'm 6'1, 190) The toilet part was not strong enough either. So I had to build the platform to support the weight and rid any "soft" or weak spots. Its a necessity. When you say between the tank and frame..Do you mean the holding tanks going under the trailer? If so, The tanks will be about 1/2" below the metal frame and against the 2x4's so I don't for-see any issues with rubbing, but in the case, a simple strip of weather tape should solve any issues. I'm learning as I go, so if anyone has any pointers, feel free to post them. I appreciate the input I've gotten thus far.

we have to take out a support from under the trailer, or at least take off the drop side of the angle iron support(under the trailer) to be able to butt the tank upto the underneath side of the floor of the trailer. my angle iron supports are 12.4" apart under the trailer,, tank is 20" wide. If we do not put the tank as close to the floor as possible I would have about 8" clearance to the ground, You have really helped answer several questions

I don't know off the top of my head what the distance from the ground to the bottom of the trailer would be. I know I will be close, but the tanks will be right in front of the rear wheels-which works out well for this trailer..
I think it is just the nature of horse trailers to have low tanks. When I was under my FIL's trailer last weekened, they just seemed crazy low, but he's not really had any issues. He hit the bracket 1 time and bent it up, but no leaks. I think those ABS tanks are pretty resilient.
