I have seen the trailer in person now. It is in very good shape structurally. In fact, I was pretty impressed. Crawled in, over and under. The coupler needs to be replaced. Not sure how expensive that is.

The biggest concern that I see with it is it doesn't have drop down bars on the head side windows. Got to have that in FL. The horses would roast without it even adding fans. I don't care for the aftermarket window screens that velcro or zipper. Been there, done that. I don't feel as though they give the same air flow and they are a pain for me. Does anyone know if adding drop down bars is a possiblity and is it expensive? The escape door has a sliding window and it would be nice to make that a drop down too. Not sure it's worth the monies and might be better off to wait and find something else.

Thanks.

You don't see very many 4Stars in the shape that you've described for the price that you've quoted they were asking.that would be a no brainer, for me.That's one of the best trailers on the market. Many of the trailers,in fact, most, from that era didn't have drop down bars. The nice 4Star that we bought didn't,and,I had custom window screens made by an RV company that I really like. That sounds like a really nice trailer,to me.The coupler replacement isn't expensive, but, those bars are.

My first trailer didn't have the drop down bars either.  I agree with the screens you can order for trailers.  I had some made  by a local guy.  They were made of a synthetic webbing--Looked like a checkerboard.  We installed them by using sheet metal screws.  There were clips on the top and bottom so you could open them either way.  Not as handy as the bars but created lots of wind flow.

Ours were from www.rvsunscreen.com and we were able to get them in a light gray color that better matched the mill finish on our trailer. They are so well made I'm getting 2 more for my 2H BP 1995 Sooner.
