I am looking at purchasing a Lakota trl. I thought at one point that I had read on here that Lakota's septic tanks and valves were very low to the ground. Does anyone have any info on that?

We just purchased a Lakota and they have the valves tucked neatly away. It would depend on the year trailer you are looking at. Ours is an 2011 and the valves are close to the axle and as high up as they could get them. They are making their trailers lower to the ground than they used to and that has made a difference in some models. You could always block the axles for about $350 or if you buy a new one you can order it with the 22&1/2 down axle which will significantly raise the trailer.

I have a 2007 and the valves are low but they are very close to the axles that I have never had an issue and we take it off the paved road all the time to back country camp sights.  I have hit the front landing gear a few times but never the valves.  The only time I came close to the valves was when I cut a corner too close in a shopping mall parking lot.

My Lakota is 2 years old and I have never hit the plumbing underneath and we take it a lot of unfriendly trailer places.  The trailer floor itself sits quite high and I have never managed (yet) to strape it on anything.

Good luck to you
