Not exactly sure what brand or model it was installed by company I purchased trailer from...It does NOTHING.....no motor, no up or down!!!! It worked fine about 6 days ago....now nothing.....no I dont know how to check voltage....I checked main battery power and they are fine...they are brand new batteries also! I can look tomorrow and see if I can find a brand or model name on the jack or in my paperwork in the trailer...My trailer is a Cimarron....

Do you have a circuit breaker or a fusible link? You say you have new batteries...were they FULLY charged BEFORE you installed them?Has it been extremely cold where you are located?

Many bad batteries sitting idle will check good using a voltmeter. To get a valid test, the battery must be under a substantial load. Also recheck all your connections...a bad ground will cause problems...

If you don't know how to check for electrical current. I strongly suggest that you find somebody that can come help you. It's almost impossible for us to diagnose the problem from the small amount of info you are able to give us. Find a friend or hire somebody to come look at it and help you find the problem where they can look at it in person.
You could have a bad motor, a bad switch, a bad fuse, a bad connection on one of the wires. With out being able to trace the power through, It just all guess work.

Pull the battery terminals and throughly clean the posts and ring terminals. Apply some dielectric grease to the posts and reconnect the leads. This has been the cure for several similar problems in the past. The terminals can appear to be clean, and actually be dirty enough to inhibit a proper current flow.
As was stated, the condition of a battery cannot be tested with a VOM. Battery dealers can load check the actual condition of your batteries, to determine their storage capabilities. Anything less than fully charged batteries and clean terminals, will result in poor operation from electric jacks.

Went out this morning and one of the guys at the barn looked at it...he played with my battery cables and said they were corroided (sp)...I had cleaned them some when I installed the new batteries but evidently did not clean them well...he wiggled them a little and it is back working....said the corrosion is stopping a good connection...so I guess I will be cleaning cables this week.......Thanks for all the help!!!!!!!
