After thinking about getting my first horse trailer for a year or so, I finally decided on the Equibreeze combo BP trailer. I like the idea of the stock trailer since trailers can get so darn hot. On the flip side, I'm in Connecticut and it can also get pretty cold. I could afford to get the Equibreeze new. Just yesterday, I saw a 2005 Merhow Equistar BP slant load for sale, about the same price as the above combo trailer. I've gotten myself confused and don't know which trailer makes more sense. One is brand new while the other is 5 years old. However the 5 year old one has more bells and whistles and is probably safer for the horse overall. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

How many horses are you going to haul routinely? And where will you hauling them? How much extraneous stuff will you be taking with you? If you are hauling 2 horses routinely and you are going to multiday horse shows...you might want to look at a 3 or 2+1 design to have space for your extraneous stuff... Too bad you didn't get to look at all of the trailering options at Equine Affaire this last weekend...

I looked at all the trailers at EA. That's how I came to decide I can't afford any of them and should look for a stock? I only have one horse. We event and trail ride locally. Probably no trip over 90 minutes. I love the idea of being able to through him into a makeshift stall (stock trailer) between classes and don't have to worry about him when I'm out walking a course. I don't have truck yet, but planning on a 3/4 ton.

Stock trailers can get real cold here in New England...Have you searched for USED units?...older used Kingstons are good units
