In doing the annual bearing repacking on my 3-mule Exiss Event, they discovered that my my brake shoes were shot, and the fiber had come unglued! One drum had been scored. They said I should consider replacing the drum. When I asked about turning the drums, I was told this isn't done with trailer brakes. I'd like to know if anyone has had their brake drums successfully re-turned?Pete

Yes, it can be done. But same as with cars and trucks, they must be within the required thickness or it will not be safe to do, the turning will remove to much of the metal.
