Hello all, I have searched the forum and can not find anything on this subject. I am starting my LQ and need to install a battery box. I am looking at the double battery box from Jazz sales. I am wondering if I need to have a bracket installed to frame or do I just bolt it directly to the trailer under the gooseneck. I just seems that the weight would be too large to install directly to the trailer. Thanks for any help.

The two batteries that run my hydraulic jack are located under the gooseneck. I'm not sure, but it looks like the previous owner just glued the frame on. Anyway, I was havings some problems because it was so light weight, and most of my trail heads require a few miles of gravel or washboard roads. So I rebuilt it this summer.
I just took 1.25" angle iron and made a tray, Inside it I welded some 3/16" flat stock steel. Added a couple of 45* corbal on the two ends and welded it all to the front wall of the trailer. I drilled holes and inserted All Thread bolts and used them to secure the batteries. Painted every up and it is holding up find.
I don't know what the Jazz box looks like, But if you can weld it to the gooseneck it should be fine, Other wize make a simple tray like I did and set the box on the tray.
