Does/did Featherlite have a warranty for their trailers manufactured before 2008?

Yes. We have a 2007, bought brand new. I was pre winter cleaning yesterday, pulled the mats, and was stunned at the floor. There were two pit holes, and a very large weakened area of the floor. The floor would give to the weight of just a person. Hoping that the trailer is covered under warranty, but the dealer never gave us any warranty information. Trailer has less than 20,000 miles  and is only 4 years old. The floor shouldn't be doing this, at least not yet.

Sounds to me like neglect, not generally covered under warranty. Holes appear because of corrosion, and corrosion appears because of lack of cleaning. And lack of cleaning, is- neglect.  Don't look to a warranty to fix it. Just my .02$

Neglect? I don't think so. Thank you for your $.02 though.

We still have the paperwork and nothing was ever given to us as to how many times to clean the trailer and pull the mats.

And sorry, with less than 20,000 miles (and thats a high estimate) and only four years old, the floor should not be pitting and eroding like it is.

Ditto.   Routine maintenance is expected and necessary

I should have stated in my first post that the pitting and corrosion are at the front feet between the #2 and #3 horse.

I take very good care of my trailers, so I am getting a little tired of the neglect comments. There are people out there that never pull their mats and their floors are perfectly fine. We don't pull the trailer, but maybe twice a month in the winter, and maybe once a week during the summer, if that. Its cleaned immediately after each use. So get over the neglect comments.

All I want to know is if Featherlite had a warranty on their trailers before 2008. Yes or No and if yes, for how many years. If you can't answer that question, then don't respond to this post.

It will be between the dealer, Featherlite, and us to determine if there was neglect involved, not you!

Post some photos of the damage...especially from UNDERNEATH, if you can...out of curiosity, when you tow, how many horses do you tow with and at the end of each haul have the horses peed during the trip?

If you haven't been pulling the mats, cleaning the floor with soap and water and letting it dry before replacing the mats, then you haven't been cleaning..... Warranty isn't going to cover that rotten floor. If it does let me know and I'll go out and buy a Featherlite....

It's not that hard to find warranty info.... http://www.fthr.com/trailer-resources/warranty/

http://www.fthr.com/trailer-shopping-tools/dealer/default.aspx?state=SD

Give it a good acid wash, weld in some aluminum plate and have a WERM floor installed if you're not going to pull the mats and keep the floor clean.... http://www.wermflooring.com/

We usually only haul one or two horses at a time. The short trips are mostly with the geldings, going to roping practice and such. The mares are the ones that have had the long trips down to Texas and back. Unless it was a long trip that the geldings had to take, I have never noticed them having peed while in the trailer. They usually wait until we get back home.

When we pull the mats, I let the trailer dry out for two days before I put the mats back in. I leave all the doors and windows open, allowing for maximum airflow and drying. And, I make sure that the mats are completely dry also, before putting them back in.

Also, the warranty information on Featherlite's website is for anything 2008 and newer. Our trailer is a 2007.

Which I will ask again, does anyone know what Featherlite's warranty was for a 2007 or older trailer.
