My step-dad has a 1996 dodge ram 2500 diesel that he got used. My question is, their is a button by the dash that says EB, does anyone know what that is for? The truck didn't come with a manual so i cant look it up.

After looking through my books it is going to be an aftermarket switch more than likely like Paul said for the exhaust brake.  Look under the hook right behind the turbo or down the exhaust pipe and if you see something that looks like a can with a couple of wires and maybe a black hose going to it the EB is still on the truck.  If so, KEEP THAT TRUCK!
