What's the best way to clean out the portable water caddy for the horse trailer? I have hard water from a well and have lots of deposits inside the tank. Thanks in advance

Pour in a gallon of white vinegar and swish it around to coat all the insides of the tank. Reagitate every hour or so. It may take a day to remove all the deposits. Flush with water when you're finished.

If you have the deposits in your tank, then most likely, they are in the water heater, too. You can buy a water heater flushing tool at Camping World for $5. Hubby flushes the water heater , and adds a little clorine to the water tank for the next trip. Then, every so often, I just pop a RV fresh water tablet into the water fill inlet before I refill the tank. Those mineral deposits can cause a foul odor inside the LQ.

Thank you both, I appreciate the tip on the water heater but I don't use the water from home in the trailer due to the issue with the hard water. We don't use this water to drink or cook with. It is a good tip anyway because there could be issues where I fill my water tank.
