Would like any info on using solar panel to charge my batteries? I know people do it but have never talked to anyone who actually does it...I have two large batteries on my LQ

I don't have any experience with the solar, just a suggestion. Have you considered using a small wind generator? I've thought of doing that many times, just don't have a necessity for it. My reason is price per watt is a LOT cheaper for wind, most campgrounds have shade so solar cells might not help much, finally I have yet to experience a windless camping trip.

I used to have two solar panels on a 5th wheel that would keep two RV batteries charged. Was ideal for extended dry camping.

I use a 2008 12' LQ trailer and our main camp has no services.  I have 2 - 30 Watt panels roof mounted.  I have also switched my batteries to use 2 - 6Volt golf cart batteries as I was told by  battery guys they would outperform any deep cycle 12V.  Once I got this set-up together I never run out of battery.  We are a young family of four and camped for 10 days straight last year for labour day.  Everyone needed lots of showers since the boys spent their time in the sand pit.  My power never went below 3/4 charge.  The longest we have camped when we needed the furnace is 3 night and this was not a problem either.  The first year we had this trailer the fridge would start flashing in the middle of the night and power to run the hydraulic jacks would be almost nil after 3 night.  Very happy with my set-up.
