Has anyone ever used a Lincoln Mark LT pickup to pull a gooseneck trailer?

2 horse Sundowner GN with small DR.

Pros? Cons?

It's basically a Ford F150.  In other words a 1/2 ton pickup.

I suggest you find out your trailers total weight, it's pin weight and compare those to the towing guide for that model of truck.

for 2010 F150 SuperCrew with the 5.4L engine and 3.55 rear end you can tow a trailer that weighs 9500lbs and whose pin weight is less than 1491 lbs

With the Trailer Tow package you are also limited 60 sf of frontal area on the trailer.

They also suggest for all trailers over 5,000 lbs that you have the Trailer Tow package.

Location: Tenn/Ala.		Painted Horse- Interesting point to think about. Using the pin weight you give, and assuming that a GN will be 25% pin weight factor, your trailer can only run 5,964#..... Obviously the 9,000#+ figure is for a bumper pull as a GN that heavy with that little pin weight would fishtail worse than an intoxicated Labrador Retriever. One other question to the original poster- a 2H slant load trailer without an escape door usuaslly balances well. Make it a straight load, or shove the axles back to have an escape door on a slant, and it typically will run higher than normal tongue weight. And none of this takes into account a very short bed that can make turns dicey...Just some thoughts to consider.
