I think I may have found a dealer that still has some Denman tires left.
I was talking with him on the phone regarding my horse trailer tires.
I told him I would like to move up to a 225/75R 15 from the 205/75R 15 and he said "if your wheel (rim) doesnt measure 5" , how many bolt holes are in the rim? 5?" I said yes, then I asked him if I could just measure wherever he was talking about and he told me just to bring the rim in it would be easy for him to tell whether my wheel would be "safe" to put a 225 on. He said otherwise if it dosent have at least 5" (somewhere)?? It could rip the tire up and be unsafe to put a larger tire on the wheel..........
Does anyone know what area he is talking about measuring???
thanks

See if this answers your question. I crawled under my trailer and looked at the inside of my wheel rims, but I guess I was not parked in a very opportune way to view the numbers since I could not find them. Maybe I'm one of those people that does not have the numbers.
-------

I was told the same thing as you - I would need to be sure the wheel could handle the tire. I suspect I will end up taking the trailer in and letting a (hopefully) knowledgeable tire person tell me what my wheels can take.
-------

I hope this helps you.

Thank you very much for that reply!!! I am going to go out and see if I can find any info on back of the wheel/rims that are laying in the back of the pickup still waiting to have tires put on them.

My guess the tire guys was asking if the "width" of the rim was 5 inches.

Anyway, I went to this site and looked. http://customwheelsmarket.com/rimwheelwidth1.html

In the 205/75R 15 the acceptable rim width is 5.5-7.5 inches.

In the 225/75R 15 the acceptable rim width is 6.0-8.0 inches.

So the width of the rim measurement would be taken from what area of the rim/wheel???

The inside where the bead sets is where you measure the width. I would worry going up 2 sizes in hieght and width would cause rubbing and would stick with original equipment that the manufacturer put on.
