Try applying some dielectric grease to the sockets of your trailers' plugs. Insert and remove the plugs into the truck's receptacle several times, and see if this doesn't help improve the connections.

What Gard said. Sitting all winter and corrosion could be the culprit. Just making better connections in one area versus another. It's sure where i would start.
