Subject: Buying new Bison, Bankruptcy ???

I am planning on buying a new Bison LQ horse trailer. I was wondering how there Bankruptcy they filed last year will affect this new trailer. It is a 2010 trailer. Is there a warranty and are they obligated to stand by it or are they still protected against liability because of the bankruptcy??

TCM68, your dealer should be able to explain this to you.  If that dealer is DHMCO, we will be glad to.  Yes, there is full warranty on all 2010 models, and they are not affected in any way by the bankrupcy of the previous owners.  I can be reached at 877 694 5665 XT 121 if you have any questions.  THANKS, DON SMITH, OWNER, DHMCO

The way I understand it, the bankruptcy was before they started building 2010 models.  The current owners, Navistar I believe, warranty everything that has been built since they purchased the company.

The way it was explained to me, Bison never filed.  It was its parent company Monaco who filed, and Bison had to stop production because Monaco didn't pay their bills.  Bison remained profitable and stable.  But all that is second hand knowledge.

You could always contact Bison directly.

TCM68, as Don Smith stated the bankruptcy will not affect warranty on the 2010 models. The 2010 models are actually built by a newly formed company Bison Coach as opposed to Bison Trailer Mfg. Bison Coach is owned by Navistar the owner of International and a multi-billion dollar company. They are a very large and stable company. If you have not heard of them, you might have seen the press conference President Obama did from their factory to award them a grant to build electric engines. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to call me. 541-995-4884 Thad Akins

Had a chance to tour the plant a few weeks ago. I would not be afraid to buy thier product at all. They look like with the strength of Navistar behind them they will become a major player in the horse trailer industry again. They are building a fair trailer for a  fair price. No worries, they are possibly the most stable manufacturer out there now.

I hope they improved their axles or got a new supplier since their 2005 model. We are constantly going thru tires on the passenger side, even when we upgraded to a much better ply than is standard on their trailers. Any one else have this problem and did they get any help resolving it?
