Friends,
I have a '99 Freightliner FL-60, Sport Chassis. Western Hauler bed.
Anyway, it appears I have some electrical gremlins. Both sides turn signals no blinky. When you move the turn signal switch to either left, or right, both dash turn indicator lights are on.
And the 4-way flashers work until you turn the parking/head lights on. Then they don't blink either.
When the 4-ways are working, I can hear a relay cycling above the rear axle...clunk-clunk-clunk.
So, ideas? Perhaps the turn signal/hazard switch...mounted on the steering column is bad?
Or?
I really don't wish to visit a Freightshaker dealer to get this resolved.

Check your female trailer plug for a loose/crossed wire and check your running/stop/turn signal bulbs..... One may be shorted across.... Remove one bulb at the time and visually inspect for a filament burnt and laying across another. Do this until the four ways start working. Hope that's all it may be. Check flasher 1st for the turn signals, then like retento said, if that is not it you will need to check each bulb one at a time. Since you have a hauler bed, I assume you have rubber mounted lights on it so I would start with the lights on the frontend first. The rubber mounted light are usually no problem.

Had a Volkswagen that didn't blink when there was a burned out bulb. It was an intended feature to warn about burned out bulbs, not a defect. Try the easy solution first. walk around the truck to check for bulbs that are dark that should be on.

Does it without the trailer connected.
I have a new flasher, but I really doubt that the issue.
I think I'll start by unplugging the wires that go to the bed first. The bed has a headache rack with Stop/Turn/Tail...so I'll unplug those as well.
