Hit-And-Run Crash On I-5 Injures Horse

This driver does not deserve to own animals! He left the scene and the horse trapped in the trailer for over 3 hours.

I have 1 for you. My friend was camping in southern Mo. A guy heading down the windy trail into camp rolled his trailer with 3 horses in it. It peeled the roof off of the trailer. He got the trailer back on the road, loded the horses, rode that night and camped all week hauling his horses in this wrecked trailer with the roof peeled back. I am glad I wasn't there I would have had to give him a piece of my mind.

Makes me wonder if the truck, trailer and horse were stolen...?

Can you image how sore those horses were from the accident!!! I would have called the sheriff to report the animal abuse.

All's well that ends well, I guess... he wasn't badly hurt and at least he's out of the hands of that idiot that left him...

I was think that the rig might have been stolen also... Or the driver had either no insurance or possibly several warrants...?

I saw this on the local news. The horse looked to me like a running quarter horse and it was obviously a stallion from the news footage. The trailer was a shabby thing and it really made me wonder if the fellow left the scene for a "reason" (i.e. it was a stolen horse). There have been no further updates, the horse was last reported being treated at UCD Large Animal Clinic.

Lots of possible scenerios.

Most basic possibility, the driver of the horse trailer was drunk or under the influence of some other drug. Possibly added to the following:

Stolen truck, trailer and/or horse.

Driver not a legal citizen.

Have to say if the vehicle and/or horse had been stolen, I think that would have been addressed in the article, but who knows?

Laurie how do you know he wasn't from Iowa!!!

Doesn't matter where he is from since  you wouldn't call the sheriff in Iowa for an incident in Mo.

HUH??????

I have no idea were the guy was from. You would call the sheriff were the accident happened not were he was from.

Someone asked "what if the guy was from Iowa" I was stating that it didn't matter were he was from just were the accident happened. Some areas may not have a humane society so you may not be able to do anything in that area.
