Hello, I have never posted here, and I had a few questions to ask that I figured you guys were the ones to ask!  I am getting my very first LQ trailer.  It has an 8-9 foot short wall, couch, full bathroom, kitchen sink, stovetop, and mini fridge and ofcourse a bed.  Its a 3H and its an Elite, there are no mangers in this either.  We currently have a Chevy 2500 4x4 and was wondering, would this be too much trailer for our truck?  We would only be hauling two horses and very little tack.

Is your truck a regular 2500 or a 2500HD? Gas or Diesel? 3.73 or 4.10 gears? Manual or Automatic transmission? Regular cab, ext. cab, crew cab?

You'll probably be OK if the truck is a 2500HD... Would be best to weigh the truck and trailer loaded, then you'll know exactly what's going on with the weight on each axle. Your pin weight will be the main thing.... A LQ trailer can get heavy in a hurry when all the tanks are full... Add 8.333# for every gallon of water carried.

Its a crew cab, gas, and automatic.  I THINK its 4.10 but i'm very truck illiterate, and i only know the very basic stuff about them!

Edited to add - The trailer is ALL aluminum.  Right now we are hauling a 2H steel bumper pull, with 2 horses, and the tack room is loaded to the max, there is NO room for anything else in there! lol.

Best I can tell, A GM 2500HD with a 6.0 gas, automatic, 4.10 gears, short bed, crew cab, 4x4 is rated for to tow a fifth wheel/gooseneck trailer weighing 12,300#

That is with the Vortec 6.0L Variable Valve Timing SFI V8 and the GM 6L90, 6 speed automatic. If your truck is older than a 2007.5 then the max. will fall back to 9600#
