Bear Creek is in Kentucky near Stearns. It's the "north side" of the Big South Fork. Bear Creek is a great place to ride. The signs on the trail are the best because they tell you how far it is to another trail or to a particular destination. Some of the trails are a bit challenging, others are easy to moderate. The stalls are metal stanchions with four per camp site. Try it. You'll like it.

Thanks for the reply. The website for Big South Forks list it as a TN address. What is the camp like to get into? My trailer is 40' overall length. Any issues getting into the camp? Thanks

The BSF site is undoubtedly referring to the fact that the contractor for the Forest Service who runs it, with whom you make reservations, and comes around and collects the money at the camp, is based in TN. I don't think you should have any problems with your rig. Once you get off 27 South to head towards Stearns the roads are typical Kentucky roads. They are good but not "suburban street wide". There is a bit of an uphill climb on one section of the road but if you have a halfway decent truck pulling you should have no problems. I know all too well how it is going to a place and not knowing those little details about the roads or camp. So, if you have any other questions ask away.

Thanks for the info. We plan on getting to East Fork this Friday afternoon. Sunday or Monday we will move to Honey Creek. Wednesday we are going to take a ride on the train at Stearns. We will check out Bear Creek and possibly move over there on Thursday or Friday. We really enjoy that area.

Just last Friday we took friends down to Stearn to ride the train. If you haven't taken it before it's an excellent (and even educational) experience. You'll will undoubtedly have a great time and saddle-sore butts after doing the BSF that many days. Enjoy.
