I go to a lot of rodeo's in ND and it always seems that their is 2 ways to go. Go longer miles that takes shorter time or drive shorter miles that takes longer. I almost always take the better road and not wory about it. Just wondering what other people do thought it would be interesting to know.

I try to take the big road, the super slab, the interstate, etc. Sometimes it may be a few more miles, but most of the time it works out to about the same amount of time.

I am right there with you Retento. Shortest distance is as the crow flies, but unless you can fly like the crow, it usually isn't faster or smoother. Take the main roads...if you have a problem...usually more populated...wider shoulders...usually better roads...less brake checks...

I drive to alot of competions and if I don't know the road I always take the best roadway, not necessarily the shortest distance. The larger roadways usually have a higher average speed limit as well and many times though the road is longer it is the fastest route. MapQuest.com is a great help with this.
