I have a used Sundowner w/ a week-ender package. I not only use it for horse camping but to take to dog shows. I sometimes stay at campgrounds so I can have hookup to water and electric. I recently tried to make a reservation for July and was told that as of June there will be a new national law requiring all trailers staying at campgrounds to have RVIA certification. This means that any trailers with after market, non-professional LQ or week-ender packages won't have this sticker. Is this true or was I given a load of B.S.? I can't seem to find anything online about this supposed law. Anyone heard of this?

JRTgirl ... Welcome to the forum .... I call BS on this.
Maybe the campground you called, will require the RVIA certification. A private camp can require anything they please. But I doubt a federal law is being promulgated. Especially effective June 2009... What Campground did you call ?? Got a contact number or web site to confirm the requirement?
I just spent a week at Big South Fork, run by the National Park Service, US dep't of Interior... I didn't see any notices on RVIA certification

I just called one of the State Parks we intended to stay at. The forest ranger hadn't heard anything about an RVIA certification requirement. I think you are right - it's a private campground thing and perhaps some campground association is recommending this certification. Scared the B.J. out of me as I saw my camping trip going down the tubes.

10 years ago or more when I was trailer shopping a dealer mentioned to me that some campgrounds would not allow you to stay without the RVIA sticker. When I had my trailer made they were supposedly out of stickers....hmmm. Anyhow, I don't think this is a particularly NEW issue just one that surfaces occasionally. I've been to lots of places too, just like the rest on this forum and it has never been an issue.

We have actually been to a few places that would not let you plug into the barn outlets unless you were either RVIA or TR Arnold certified. They sited insurance reasons.
