Haven't been on here in quite a while, but was up at Bandy Creek @ Big Southfork and was coming back to Middle TN and decided to check out a new riding facility. It is just off 127 between Clarkrange and Crossville. Catoosa Ridge was a very nice facility with the nicest barns I have seen and I think tey have a couple thousand acres and it backs up to 90,000 acres that you can ride on. Google it up. The stalls have one piece rubber floors that are padded with swing out feeders. Didn't have time to ride the trails but am told they are nice. The guy running the place is Bobby Gene York that also runs Bandy Creek Stables.

The campsites were pretty nice gravel with power water and sewer but weren't in complete shade, they had somemore over in another part that I didn't check out but there were more trees around them. Really nice barn and room to chat in.

Dee - We have not been to Eminence, so can't compare 127 to that. It reminded me of coming through the Smokies. There was some construction going on at the bottom of one of the hills that really hurt. Pulling that hill from a dead stop put our truck to the test. But she passed with flying colors, I'm proud to say.
We have a '97 F-250, PSD and pull a steel 3H-GN with a 4'sw weekender. It was loaded with 2 horses and a lot of gear. Not too shabby for a 12 year old truck with 215,000 miles on it.

Are you sure your not confusing Hwy 127 with 297? 297 has the gorge. We travel 127 all the time going to East Fork and Big South Fork. We haven't noticed anything wicked about it except for the slow traffic that you will sometimes get behind. We just got back from a weekend at Catoosa Ridge. The campsites in C are great. Plenty of shade. All the barns are great.

Soundhorse, We are going to Bandy Creek the end of the month. Been to East Fork many times. When you go from East Fork towards Bandy Creek, waht kind of road would that be like. We have a 40ft rig, I would prefer not getting into a situation. Thanks

Just be shure you are coming from the Jamestown side if you are going to Bandy Creek. 127 is not bad at all it is the other one that goes through the Gorge that is bad coming from Oneida with the 10 MPH curves and you can't make at any faster speed either.

That is right. If you are coming from the Jamestown side to go to Bandy Creek you will not have a problem. It is coming from the Oneida side that you go through the gorge.

Just got back from Catoosa and really enjoyed it . The campground is great and the trails are really nice. They just need a lot of horses to go through and beat them out. Really nice.
