I just had a LQ put in my horse trailer. I would like to put cowhide on the cabnets in the indentions. Can anyone tell me what to use to attach it? Glue? What kind? Also the brass buttons that go around the edge of alot of the cowhide stuff where do I find that?

Thanks

Most contact cements. 3M spray adhesive . Upholstery tacks can be found on the Internet, Ebay, anyone who performs reupholstery.

Contact cement. I like the brush on kind better than the spray but both work fine. The tacks are called upholstery tacks.

If it were me, I'd see if the inset panels can be removed.  Open the cabinet and see if the panel is just tacked in place with staples from the inside.  If so, remove the staples, take the panel out, downsize it on your table saw to allow you to wrap the bullhide around the panel, adhere with contact cement, then re-install the panel back into the cabinet door frame.

This will alleviate the need to try to cut the bullhide square to fill the panel to the edge of the door frames.

Or....forgo my original idea and the upholstery buttons and "frame" the bullhide with rope.  This will hide any "oopses".
