ok, I'm wanting to buy my daughter a 2000 chevy 3/4 4x4. Will her gooseneck hitch go in the new truck? She's driving a 95 chevy 1500 now. I think she has a spin in ball on the 95.

It would depend on the frame measurements of the two trucks, whether it could be interchanged. If the main frame rails are the same distance and profile, it may work on both. A mechanic should be able to quickly measure both and make a determination. Most of the older trucks have a "C" shaped frame, while the newer ones have a hydro shaped boxed rail, which are not interchangeable.

1st off the Gooseneck hitches usually cost around $300 for the parts only. How much is your time worth to un-install the hitch that is rusted in place on the old truck?
How much resale value will you loose trying to sell a used truck with a hole in the bed and no hitch in that hole?
I venture that between your time and the loss of resale, you are better off to just buy the new hitch.
