Could anyone tell me the best way to carpet the bulkhead wall in a slant load.  The other option is to use vinyl on the wall.

If you plan on adhering the carpet directly to the metal without framing and insulation, standard contact glues work well. Pre measure the carpeting, and apply the glue to both the carpeting and bulkhead surfaces. Let it dry to the touch and press the carpeting into place.

Many spray glues are not strong enough for reliable vertical carpeting installations. Use the adhesives intended for laminate installation, applying the product with a roller and brush.

The spray adhesives will work if applied properly. Use the 3M spray adhesive. It is what many of the manufacturers use, except in bulk form. I put mine up 6 years ago and still there today.

The 3m spray glue is the only one I would recommend, beware of the copy cat spray glues.  The first suggestion by gard is correct as well.  Spray both surfaces and let them get tacky to the touch.  Spray glue will get tacky faster than brush on.  If I was doing the job myself, I would use the brush on.  Be really careful to start at an edge, usually the top on a vertical surface and work done making sure there are no voids that will cause bubbles or puckers.  Once you stick it.........you're stuck.

Happy trails,

I forgot to mention that I don't have a triple wall in the dressing room.  Do I need some sort of backing to put up first.

Thank you all for your help.
