I camp a good deal and am trying to figure out a way to save space and time. Rather than hauling a table and lugging it outside I was thinking it would be easier to somehow mount a hinged table top over the fender area. If it had a couple of folding legs then the weight wouldn't be on the trailer when it was set up. Anybody have any suggestions on how to do this?

A piece of 3/4" plywood attached to the trailer with split hinges,(so it can be easily removed without tools if necessary) and supported by two fold down legs would be very easy to fabricate.

I did tis to a trailer I had. Just used a piano hinge and pop rivets to secure the table to the trailer. Make sure you mount the table at the correct height so that is comfortable when unfolded. Barn door hinges worked well for attaching the legs. Use a good primer and top-coat so that your table will stand up to the weather.
