Actually yes, the renegades are a bit slippery. I just took a fall last weekend because of my horse slipping in NEW renegades. Now, if he hadn't of been being stupid in the first place, there would have been no issues!! My first pair are not slippery at all now. They are roughed up from using, but the new ones are going to see a rasp before my next ride with them!

The rasp is a good idea.  Just like a new pair of human boots; scuff up the bottom to improve traction.  After our first ride with the Renegades the bottom of the boots were scuffed up, but we didn't do any extreme inclines the first time out.  Since then my daughter has climbed over some good rocks and crawled out of creek beds without slipping at all.
