I have an 03 Exiss Event and yesterday my water heater wasn't working. I checked the fuses and sure enough one was blown. The panel has a total of 9 fuses. They are all 15 amp.I was going to change it but when I went to put the fuse back in , it would arc so I called my fixer uppper guy, He looked at the plate with the info on it. It said that it should have 20 amp. Now should I up the fuses to 20amp or leave what the factory put in there. All are 15amps. The reason it blew was I have,  I guess an auto ignition switch that lights up then goes out after the heater ignites. The light itself in the switch went out. So I guess I'll have to replace the switch. First LQ and I'm usually pretty good at figureing out the basics. Atleast i knew enough to check the power supply first...I also learned how to change my gas tanks out... Hey hey got my horse, got my dog who needs a cowboy....lol only kidding...just need my fixer upper guy

The fuse blew because of an overload in the circuit. If that was your original fuse, it has been in place and working for five years. Based on that longevity, it would seem that the original 15 amp fuse had enough capacity. The fuse holder may have a capacity of 20 amps, while your actual circuit wiring may be less.

If the fuse is arcing when it is installed, then there is a load present as soon as there is amperage available. Either the switch is faulty or there is a short in the circuit. There should not be any load until the heater is selected "on". The cause of this load should be determined, and the reason for the fuse blowing will then be eliminated. Adding a larger capacity fuse will not exclude an electrical malady, and may contribute to additional problems.

I got the fuse replaced. I think it is the switch so I have to get one to replace it. For now it's working. Thanks for your input Gard. Your da man when it comes to getting answers...
