1999 Sundowner Valuelite 2-Horse Bumper Pull Trailer w/ Front Tack Room Well-built and very lightly used 1999 Sundowner Valuelite 2-horse bumper pull horse trailer with a separate front tack/dressing room. I’ve owned this trailer since it was about 9 years old, and it has seen very little actual use over its lifetime. For approximately the last 15 years, it has primarily been kept at our ranch near Bozeman, Montana, and I don’t believe it has been moved in at least 5 years — possibly closer to 10. It has been stored outside, so it does show normal cosmetic weathering for its age, but overall it remains a solid and very presentable trailer. Features & Specifications * 1999 Sundowner Valuelite * 2-Horse bumper pull configuration * Tandem axle * GVWR: 8,050 lbs * Tire size: ST205/75R15 * Aluminum exterior skin over steel frame * Separate front tack/dressing room * Side entry into tack room * Saddle and gear storage * Full-height rear loading doors/ramp * Side horse access door * Interior divider * Padded horse area * Large windows for light and ventilation * Diamond-plate gravel guard across the front * Exterior loading/work lights Ownership & Use This has been a lightly used trailer rather than one that has accumulated years of heavy hauling. I have owned it for nearly 2/3rds of its life, and during the years it has been at our ranch in Bozeman it has spent most of its time parked rather than being regularly towed. Bozeman has a relatively dry climate, and I am not aware of any significant structural or corrosion issues with the trailer. Condition The trailer presents well for its age, but I want to describe it accurately. As shown in the photos, there is some normal cosmetic wear from age and outdoor storage, including: * Surface rust/weathering on the steel wheels * Fading and peeling in portions of the original exterior graphics * Peeling/wear to portions of the coating around the wheel fenders * Normal oxidation and exterior weathering * Some general cosmetic wear consistent with a 1999 trailer The body panels, doors, ramp, windows, diamond plate and overall structure appear to be in good condition. The horse compartment also appears clean and lightly used. Bearings / Running Gear The wheel bearings were replaced shortly after I purchased the trailer and have very few actual road miles on them. That said, because the trailer has been stationary for a number of years, I would recommend that the buyer have the bearings inspected/repacked and the brakes, tires, lights and other running gear checked before putting it back into regular road service. I’m simply disclosing that because the trailer has not been regularly used in recent years, rather than representing that those components have recently been serviced. Other Items The roof vent cover is missing/damaged and will need a standard inexpensive replacement lid. Overall, this is a quality-built Sundowner Valuelite that has had very little actual use, has been owned by the same person for most of its life, and has spent its later years primarily parked at a ranch in Montana. It would make an excellent trailer for someone willing to do a basic mechanical inspection/service and a little cosmetic cleanup. With fresh servicing and some attention to the wheels and exterior cosmetics, it should make a very nice trailer for trail riding, shows, ranch use or everyday hauling. Located near Bozeman, Montana. A strong listing can make a big difference when selling your horse trailer online. Based on what we’ve seen, trailers with clear photos, detailed descriptions, and fair pricing tend to get the most interest.

Photos are especially important. Ads with pictures consistently perform better than ads without them, so we recommend adding high-quality photos as soon as possible. Show the outside, inside, stalls, tack area, tires, hitch, living quarters if included, and any important details or upgrades. Good lighting and clean, uncluttered photos can help buyers feel more confident about reaching out.

Your description should be honest, specific, and easy to read

Include key details such as the year, brand, size, number of horses, trailer type, condition, features, recent maintenance, and any known issues. Buyers are looking for everything from large living-quarter trailers to simple 2-horse bumper pulls, so the more clearly you describe your trailer, the easier it is for the right buyer to find it.

Great photos can make a big difference when selling your trailer. Each ad allows up to 30 photos, and we recommend adding several clear, well-lit images to help buyers understand the condition, layout, and features of your trailer.

For the best results, include:

  • A clear 3/4 exterior view of the trailer
  • Interior photos of the horse area
  • Rear or loading area photos
  • Tack room or dressing room photos, if included
  • At least four interior photos for living quarter trailers
  • Close-ups of important features, upgrades, tires, hitch, and any areas buyers may ask about

Try to take photos on a bright, sunny day for the best color and clarity. Clean out the trailer first, remove clutter, and take photos from slightly different angles so buyers can get a complete view. Honest, detailed photos help build trust and can lead to more serious inquiries.

Photos can be uploaded anytime by logging into your ad. If you are ready to post your ad but do not have photos yet, you can add them later.

If you have trouble uploading photos, you may email them as attachments or mail them by regular ground mail. We accept JPG, GIF, TIFF, and BMP files by email, though JPG files work best. All photos are converted to JPG format for posting, and mailed photos are scanned and posted online. If you mail physical photos and want them returned, please include a self-addressed stamped envelope.

Your personal and payment information is protected when you submit the Ad Form. The form is delivered through a secure SSL connection, which encrypts the information you enter before it is transmitted.

This added security helps protect sensitive details such as your credit card information, contact information, and other personal data. SSL encryption is the same type of security commonly used for online payments, banking, and other secure transactions.

Because the form uses encryption, it may load or respond a little more slowly than a standard webpage. You can confirm that the page is secure by looking for the security icon in your browser.
