Description: Traveled Lane Trailers, Inc.

This extra long and immaculate Adam 2+1 just came in for us to show as a private sale. We call it a 2+1, but it's much more than that. Whereas a 2+1 that's 19' on the floor is considered roomy, this one has a horse area of 22' and that added length opens up many possibilities. We could call it a "2+1 / 3 / 4 / Reverse Load," but that would tell only part of the story, because we could also call it a "2-Box Stall or Carriage and Pair" trailer. The original owner of this trailer was a carriage driver, so as shown here, it's set up with a pair of rear-facing stalls in the front area and a 10' box stall in the back for his carriage. If you don't drive, put a third horse back there. By our tape, body height is a big-horse-friendly 7'6" and body width is a couple inches shy of 7 feet. The 4' dressing room brings the floor length to 26 feet.

If you don't need or want rear-facing stalls, move the straight stall hardware to the rear area and use the 12' area forward of the 50/50 box stall doors for a variety of uses. Put a third horse there, use it as a tacking/grooming area or use it as a breezeway out of the heat or rain. If the horses get along, you could put a couple of horses in that huge 12' forward box stall. Since this trailer has mounting positions for straight stall hardware forward and to the rear of the box stall doors, with the purchase of another set of straight stall hardware (stall divider, posts and bars), you'd have a compact 4H head-to-head. (To do the latter, you'd need to remove the box stall doors, which would give you a center area of about 8' between the front and rear stalls.)

The horse area includes such useful features as several large windows, six 2-way roof vents, a 12 volt fan in a front corner and spring-assisted side and rear ramps. The side ramp is 4' wide and is an extra tall 5' for a comfortable incline while loading and unloading. Opposite the side ramp is a wide escape door with drop-down window. The escape door is equipped with a camper latch and a more secure "butterfly" latch for times when there's a horse in the box stall. This trailer also has a bar-type see-through head divider for the straight stalls. (The head divider hasn't been used recently, so it's stowed in the multi-shelf unit in the dressing room.) There's a lockable pass door for convenient movement between the dressing room and horse area. There's a butt bar across the pass door to keep a horse from putting undue strain o it. The red hay bags and ties coordinate well with the trailer's red trim stripes.

The 4' dressing room has several bridle hooks, a multi-tiered shelf along the back wall, 3 adjustable-height saddle racks on a removable post and a 12 volt fan. There are several large windows and a roof vent for natural light and ventilation. Aftermarket accessories include a 2000 watt inverter that can put out up to 17 amps to power 120 volt devices. (The inverter gets its power from a pair of batteries on a rack under the nose of the trailer.) There are 3 receptacles on the inverter unit, a duplex receptacle in the dressing room and another duplex receptacle on the exterior, just to the rear of the dressing room door. Circuits are protected by breakers. It's a thoughtful and tidy installation. Just above the inverter in the dressing room is a 12 volt power port. Another owner-added accessory is the compact refrigerator, which is visible at floor level in one or two of the dressing room views. The refrigerator is not permanently mounted, so may be moved or removed as required. Based on the model number and physical size, it we'd say it looks like it's a 1.9 cu. ft. refrigerator. A 3-step mounting block serves double duty as a mounting block and stairs to the upper gooseneck area. There's plenty of height in that upper gooseneck area for storage. The lockable dressing room door has a window and there's a screen door as well.

Peeking under the gooseneck, you'll see the 2 rack-mounted batteries mentioned in the previous paragraph, the spare tire and a water tank with pump. We estimate the tank to be of 20-25 gallons capacity. A clever feature is that they've wired a 7-pole electrical connector (of the type that's likely on the back of your truck or SUV) to the onboard batteries What's the significance of that? You can plug the trailer's cable into that socket and the onboard batteries will power the aforementioned water pump, the interior lights and the loading lights (there's one on each side and another over the rear ramp). That is, the trailer doesn't need to be connected to a vehicle for you to use those circuits or you don't have to risk running down your vehicle's battery(ies) to run the trailer devices.

This Adam has aluminum frame, skin and floor. It has 7000 lb. axles, so if you do carry 4 horses, it has the axles to handle the load. While not yet mounted when the pictures were taken, 5 brand new Load Range E radial tires will be on the trailer before its new owner (could it be you?) takes delivery.

2+1s in general are highly sought and this Adam is sized and equipped to offer so much more. We expect it to find a new home very soon. Don't get shut out. Stop by and check it out! Private sale on display at Traveled Lane.
