Description: Merhow has been building horse trailers since 1955. They are a well built all aluminum trailer and are popular on the East Coast where they are built. They are slightly more than a Lakota, SMC or Sundowner but Merhow's narrow trailers are a full 7' wide verses only 6'8" or 6'9" on those other brands. This means more length in the horse stalls, less claustrophobic living quarters and bigger rear tack. Other significant differences are:
Nicer, solid wood interior in "Next Gen" model compared to Exiss, Featherlite, Sundowner, Lakota, SMC and Bison. (Stampede has solid wood cabinet doors and cabinet fronts. Most other brands mentioned have vinyl wrapped cabinets.
Much thicker roof than Lakota, SMC and Bison.
Significantly stronger frame than Lakota and SMC. (Ask us for pics showing differences, namely their use of non-gusseted C channel vs tubular welded to tubular with corner gussets.
Extruded sides to protect against horse damage. Stainless nose.
