2017  Bee

Description:  Traveled Lane Trailers, Inc.

This lightly used 3H stock combo K&K by Bee came in recently. We'll skip to some key points - it's versatile, affordable and has the corrosion protection benefits of galvanneal side panels.

This is actually the second time we've had this trailer. The original owner purchased it new elsewhere. It has nice-sized stalls as slant loads go, but she had large horses and should have purchased a straight load or a custom slant with big-horse stalls. We quickly found a new home for it, but the owners used it only a few times in the space of a year, so here's your opportunity to use and enjoy this nice trailer.

Before we get too far along, in the "Composition" field, we checked "Steel with steel frame" because that seemed to be the closest match, but as mentioned in the lead comments, this trailer actually has a steel frame with galvanneal side panels. The steel sheets are coated in molten zinc (as with galvanized components) and then heat treated (annealed) so iron in the steel diffuses into the zinc in the coating. There are many benefits, but the one likely of greatest interest is that the galvanneal sheets offer good corrosion protection. Several years ago, we had a trailer with unpainted galvanneal side panels. That particular trailer stayed around longer than we would have liked, but in the 2 years or so it was on the lot, those unpainted galvanneal sheets did not rust. It was a convincing demonstration of the corrosion resistance of galvanneal.

But enough about the benefits of galvanneal. Let's talk about some other aspects of this versatile trailer...

As the subject line indicates, it's a 3H slant gooseneck. Body width is 6 feet and body height is 7'. The slant stalls are of typical size; that is, sized for horses to around the mid 15 hand range. It has a dressing room with bridle hooks and 3 removable saddle racks. The wall swings out of the way so you can open up the interior to haul a load of hay, a small tractor, or other cargoes. It's a compact dressing room, but there's plenty of storage space in the carpeted upper gooseneck and Bee thoughtfully included a built-in step and grab handle for access to that area. (By the way, the trailer had some hay scraps in that upper gooseneck area when we took the pictures. The tan and brown spots may look like rust, but it's hay. We should have swept it before taking the pictures. Sorry about that.) Completing the picture in the dressing room, there's a window on each side for light and ventilation, the door is lockable and Bee even put a textured Aluminum Tread Plate covering on the step into the dressing room. Nice touches.

This ready-to-use trailer has rubber floor mats, tie rings inside and out, a padded chain across the rear opening, brakes on both axles, spare tire and more.
