Hi all, I have been towing my tiny 2 horse bumper pull with a Toyota Sequoia for 20 years and am finally able to upgrade my rig. I think I want a 2 plus 1 but may just go with a 2 horse gooseneck with a dressing room. I have no experience with pick ups or goosenecks for that matter so am not sure where to start. Do you look at trailers first then find a suitable truck to pull it with or the other way around? Please help advise a newbie!

I would find the perfect trailer for me, and then find the truck best suited to it. And I would be very careful on the truck part. Most truck dealers know nothing about towing, especially goosenecks. Most trailer dealers are better suited to help with truck questions, provided you get the right person there. Frankly- at your note of a 2H GN straightoad or a 2+1, you'll be fine with any of the 3/4 tons, gas or diesel. 1/2 tons and goosenecks don't generally play well together, especially with the tongue heavy trend the straightloads have. But again, just my opinion. :)

Trailer first.   It is much harder to find the right trailer.  The right truck is very easy to find
