I’ve been told my 2015 F150 can tow up to 11,300.... anyone have any insight or towed with a half ton? I feel like it should be fine but want to know if anyone else has! Tia!

What are the specs of your truck (regular cab, super cab, super crew, 4x2, 4x4, engine, gvwr)? These details will allow you to accurately determine your safe (and legal) trailer towing capacity.

Gooseneck trailers put a considerable amount of weight on your bed mounted hitch ... and that weight is transferred to the truck, truck axles and tires. With a gooseneck trailer, your truck GVWR (and payload capacity which is a function of GVWR) often becomes the limiting factor, and the Trailer Towing Capacity becomes a meaningless number. Like a chain is only as strong as its weakest link, the weakest link in a truck is most often the truck GVWR when a gooseneck trailer is being pulled.

We also have a 3 horse gooseneck – 2008 Hart with a 6 ft tack room, 7’6” wide trailer with a 21 ft floor length. We scaled each axle of our truck and trailer (empty) and also each axle of the truck without the trailer. The truck is a 2011 Ford F350, quad cab, 8 ft box, 4x4, dual rear wheel, 6.7 L diesel.
Truck and Trailer Weights were as follows:
Truck front axle – 5022 lbs
Truck rear axle – 5330 lbs
Trailer (both axles) – 4670 lbs (empty)
Total weight of truck and trailer = 15,022 lbs

Truck only weights were as follows:
Truck Front Axle = 5000 lbs
Truck Rear Axle = 3833 lbs
Total weight of truck only = 8833 lbs

Trailer weight (empty) = 15,022 – 8833 = 6189 lbs
Weight on gooseneck hitch (pin) = (5022 + 5330) – 8833 = 1519 lbs (with empty trailer)
% Trailer Weight on Gooseneck Hitch = 1519 / 6189 = 25% (with empty trailer)

You can see that with our gooseneck trailer (empty), that 25% of the trailer weight is on the gooseneck hitch.
This example shows an empty trailer weight … to get an accurate representation, you would have to get actual weights with your trailer fully loaded (tack, horses, etc) and compare those numbers to your truck’s weight ratings (GVWR, load capacity and towing capacity).
