Looking for info........have recently purchased a Lakota 8411 with slide-out and it has 3 batteries for the LQ. I'm under the impression that one of the batteries is for the dual electric jacks and wired separately. Is there a way to utilize one battery tender as opposed to 3 for winter storage to maintain the batteries ? We are in northern Wisconsin and it's rather cold. I currently use a single tender for my other trailer with 1 battery. Thanks in advance.

Your power converter will maintain the two batteries for the LQ.  I'm in Minnesota and have kept my trailer pluged in for the past 30 + years without a problem.  I do replace all batteries every three years as we travel and a poor place to have batteriy problems is in the middle of no where.

I was always told to not leave the trailer plugged in for extended time periods as it will fry the batteries ?

Unless your trailer had some type of special option, Lakota does not generally wire a special battery for the jacks. Yes- the jacks are wired straight to the batteries because of the high current draw. Now- if you have a genset it may have a seperate battery. As to charging, I believe you'll find that all three are connected and one charger can get all three together. Your selling dealer should be able to reference your build paperwork and explain exactly how it is wired.

Yes, I have an onboard generator. The 3rd battery may be the separate starting battery. The other 2 would be wired in parallel, in which case I can maintain them with a single float charger. If the 3rd battery isn't connected to the other 2, then I will need a separate maintainer for it too. If anyone can shed some light whether this assumption is correct or not, feel free please. Thanks all.

RT is correct and the 3rd battery should be for your generator (not your jacks, that is wired to the other two).  I also 2nd calling your selling dealer and having them explain how it's wired.

Unfortunately I bought the trailer from a gentleman who didn't know much about the operation of the trailer. Didn't know if the Jack's were electric or hydraulic, amount of propane remaining in tanks, how old the tires were, last oil change in generator etc..........I plugged in my trickle charger to the 2 batteries for the Lq as they are wired in parallel. Thanks all.

Well, the onboard charger (converter) will not in itself fry the batteries. But- most folks don't check the water frequently enough and once the batts go dry, then yes they fry. Frankly- you can likely have great results plugging your trailer in (with the batt switch ON) for a couple of days every couple of weeks. When it is unplugged, turn the switch Off.
