Hi, I am looking to buy a 2 plus 1 trailer. I was wondering what peoples experiences where with the 4 star runabout vs the deluxe versions. And if there was other brands that you would recommend. Thanks!

I have a 2 horse 4 Star DLX  Living Quarter trailer and had a 2 horse 4 Star Runabout bumper Pull (traded in for a 3 horse BP Cimmaron).

If you are buying on price the runabout is a good trailer.  However the DLX is a better trailer.  The windows and grills are a lot more substancial with the DLX.  Is that needed, no not really but they will hold up longer.

Not sure if the 2+1 has mangers.  If so, compare the doors on the manger storage.  There maybe the same difference there.

If the DLX fits into the budget, I would go that route as you wont be disappointed.

I don't think you will be disappointed with the 4-Star Runabout.  I think it's a great buy for the money and still has the 4-Star quality.  As far as the windows, I know the Deluxe windows can be put on the Runabout models.....just ask the dealer for the specs or ask if the windows have been upgraded.  Otherwise, they pull great and are safe & durable.

If you are shopping used...consider a C&C 2+1
If you are shopping new...consider an Adam
Pro-Classic 2+1 https://adamtrailers.com/aluminum-gn  Apparently, if you go to a lot of barns that require very tight manuevering...you can get an Adam 2+1 WITHOUT the tackroom which gives you a shorter trailer...:)
