Hello
I have a 1993 steal 2horse BP Valley trailer.
The ramp has springs to help with raising.

How hard is it to replace them .
Should I replace them , the ramp is heavy

Those are garage door springs (old timers) that can sometimes be found at a hardware store. Measure the length and the diameter before you go.

Not much. One end of the spring is very close to the ramp hinge, so there never was much help there,

You could contact eTrailer and ask them if this system would work...

I just bought a1996 Logan Coach two-horse.  It has a similar set up.  There are springs on both sides.  They work amazingly well - just really easy up and down.  In looking for parts, I noticed that Logan Coach Parts website has replacement springs.  I don't know if the size will be the same, but it's worth looking. I think the website is "oldlogancoach" .

Here is the link:
oldlogancoach/e/exterior-/trailer-ramps

Well, it's not a link.  I could not paste.  I tried several options and none worked.  The above is what appears in the address bar.

They do have the springs for about $35 each.

And, Like Kay said above, it does not look like it would work.  But, it does on my trailer.  It is really quite amazing how well it works.  Looking at it, I can't figure out why.

Thanks for the fix Hosspuller.

It seems that this sytem works well if the springs are very strong, which these are.  The strength of the springs compensates for the poor leverage.
