Is there any reason to not buy a trailer with salvage title? The damage was because of hail. I don't really care if roof is dented.Any other reason not to?

I wouldn't think just hail damage would be a problem, but it must be very old or REALLY hit with hail in order to deserve a salvage tittle IMO. What year model and brand is this?

Denny's Trailer Sales, Wykoff, MN had  a 2014 4 Star from OK with hail damage to the roof.  The insurance company totalled the trailer as the cost to replace the roof on this LG 3-horse was too great.  Nothing was wrong with the trailer except there are dents in the roof.  It was priced about $15,000 below going prices in this area due to Minnesota Salvage Title.   Looked like a great deal to me.

I would ask for pictures and repair orders if there's any.

My Understanding is the cost of repairing the roof exceeded 70% if the trailer value, so that's why they give it a salvage title. I've seen numerous pics and had someone's friend look at it and they say it looks really good.

Financing can be an issue on salvaged titles which may or may not affect resale value.  Most of our banks will not finance one unless it has been repaired and the title switched to "reconditioned".

Financing can be a problem thou many dealers can get you the financing.  Minnesota & several other states do not have a "recondition" title.

Make sure that the ONLY REASON for the salvage title is a hail damaged roof...a salvage title can hide an ACCIDENT REPAIRED trailer as well...:(

Visually inspect the frame for unexplained cuts and welds...et cetera...
