If you are not the original owner they will do nothing for you. For original owners that replied during the notification period, they only coated the roof. Something that has do be done yearly now.

I did contact the company and they did not mention that there had been a recall on that year/model. The person did recommend that I take it to a CM dealer to let them look at the roof. The roof of this trailer does not leak but has a 1 piece sheet or fabric material on it. The material is like a fiberglass material and does not lay flat on the roof. Kind of wavy. I did not buy the trailer new and not sure what it is. Also, just wondering what is under that fabric.

I'm not sure that recall is quite the proper term, as that generally involves safety. Your roof issue is aggravating, but not unsafe I'd think.

With that- you just answered the question without even knowing it. CM Norstars of that era used a roofing material that CM purchased from another party. It had a fancy name that I can't recall. But in effect, it was a laminate product, of which the top layer was fiberglass. What happened in reality, is that it appears to break down, and delaminate with UV exposure. Your "floppy sheet" is the top layer that has delaminated from the rest of the roof. It either is leaking, or soon will be.

I have known of trailer owners who have worked with CM and had the roof replaced at their factory with what I understood was a discounted rate. But it was still a lot. We have had several through our shop where we have installed an aluminum skin roof over the current roof. When done, it looks like all original CM from below, and like a seamless aluminum roof from above. It too isn't cheap, but should carry the trailer through the end of its life.

Thank You RTSmith. I appreciate the information. Now I need to decide what to do with it.
