i know there are a lot of variables but does anyone have a guess of the cost to install an onan generator in the hay rack of a trailer?   Trailer is not prewired.

I know this is not quite what you are asking, but I was charged $1500.00 to install a Generac in the bottom of my saddle compartment. My trailer was not prewired either.

$3000 or so for the generator, $1000 or so for other materials,  exhaust, wiring, gas tank. $1000 for labor,  depending on interior finishes. Plus a mark up,  I did some checking on my Cimarron and it's prewired,  figured by the time I bought a hay rack etc... It was going to be about $6000 -    I decided I am going to buy an Inverter Generator.

Blackcows, I went the opposite way. I removed an onboard Generac and went with two Honda 2000's twinned. I run them from a 20 gallon fuel tank mounted on the floor of my saddle compartment, I put a wooden floor on top of the fuel tank and put the two generators on top of this strapped down. I have a 6 gallon fuel tank that rides between the two. As a backup I bring a 3000 model Honda. I am lucky enough to never had to use it but have loaned it to several friends, I had a freind with a $95,000 trailer and on his maiden voyage I had to loan him my spare because his onboard Onan wouldn't run
