I have been trying to locate a supplier of aluminum planks. I would prefer to replace a few sections of my planking which are pitted versus sheeting over the floor. Trailer is a 2000 Sooner Revolution with aluminum floors. Planks are 10.25" (w) x .5" (d) approximately, lengths vary and are interlocking edges. Sooner manufacturer has no information or help.

If you have any sources I would really appreciate it.

I think Sooner, Featherlight and Exiss are all made by Universal now and if I understand it right, a trailer as old as your may not have a compatible design for the planks they currently use now. I just went thru this with my trailer. Even finding a suitable flooring replacement today with aluminum is going to be super expensive not because of materials, but the labor involved in repair.

Thanks for the reply. I have investigated several planks but none seem compatible. Just have a few spots to repair and it appears like my best option is to sandblast current floor, seal/paint, cover with aluminum sheets 3/16. I will have to screw the mats down so they won't slide.

Would like to hear options.

I think your Al sheeting idea is your cheapest route but can't you find Al diamond plate?
I know trailers that came from the factory with sheet flooring and the mats don't slide, but they are wall to wall and hold each other in place.

What kind of damage do the planks have ? A few holes on the surface? The advantage planks have over sheet metal, is the strength is in the vertical ribs. Think of a metal grate...

If the ribs are not damaged, then the surface holes are merely cosmetic. I would use an epoxy putty to fill the holes.

Over sheeting the floor creates voids for urine to get into that you can't flush away.
