The roof of my 2007 Circle J needs some touch-up so I bought some cleaner and a fiberglass roof coating from Dicor.  Now I need to get up there and do it.  Do I need to be concerned about being on the roof and causing damage to it if I walk on it?  I am 135 lbs and so not super heavy, but don't want to cause problems by being up there.  Can I use Eternabond tape to seal around the vents and such on the roof or is that for rubber roofs only?  Also, there is a red strip of decorative tape around the edge of the roof, just below where it curves down to meet the sides of the trailer.  I was thinking of painting the sealant over that and then putting new tape up there.  Would that work or do I need to completely remove the old tape?  The old tape seems to be pretty firmly stuck on, it is just faded and dull looking so I would like to replace it. Thanks!

I asked Cimarron about maintenance on a fiberglass roof and there response was basically wash it with soap and water and then wax it once or twice a year.  I dont think I would walk on it,  but then again I weigh 2x what you do.

Be aware that the fiberglass roof on a Cimarron is not just a piece of fiberglass fastened to a frame. It is an engineered panel with fiberglass on both sides, and you can walk on it. Hart uses the same thing. I don't know about the Circle J. Some fiberglass roofs are sheets fastened to a frame, and some others like the Hawk and the Trail-et are frames molded into the fiberglass and are very strong, but probably should not be walked on.

I would NOT walk on the roof. While it may support your weight, you risk damaging the surface.

Anybody had their Cimmaron Roof replaced because of UV damage? What's involved when one of those delaminates and starts to leak? I have heard Cimmaron will only apply an elostomaric coating that the UV will also eat off in a couple of years.

I really hope for your help regarding my question because unfortunately, I can't find the answer on the internet. I'm going to contact the specialists from City2Surf Roofing Sydney so that they can advise me on this issue. Many of my friends have repeatedly contacted these guys and were satisfied with the result, so I hope they can help me. However, if you have already had experience in recoating a fiberglass roof, I would be very grateful if you would share your tips and suggestions. Thank you in advance.

We have put Elastomeric Coating on the roof on both our Cimmaron LQ and our older steel weekender trailer. Clean and use the special caulk sealant and roll on a few coats ... OR, take it to a horsetrailer repair shop that you trust * they quoted us over $1,500. on our 45+ ft LQ... so my husband did it a year ago. It is awesome! waterproof and soundproofing... also feels a lot cooler in warm weather. Our smaller weekender is newly done after replacing vent covers and resealing the A/C unit.. etc. Nice stuff! It works!

It is unlikely that you'll be able to damage your roof just because you walk on it back and forth. To do this, you need to do somersaults on the roof or jump a lot. Don't worry and wash the roof. When I called the house cleaning service, three dudes were walking on my roof. They washed everything away under pressure. And nothing happened to the roof. I was only worried that they would fall because the roof was gleaming and smooth from the high water pressure. But it went well. I was satisfied. Maybe you shouldn't take the risk and let the professionals do it? I didn't want to go in there.
