I have been looking at several trailers that are a ways away from me, and am curious as to what shipping would cost, what companies are reliable for shipping, etc. If anyone has any information or tips I would love to hear them!

Look at www.uship.com.  You can list the job, with pickup address and delivery address, and item to be shipped.  You would want to require the correct size ball and a brake controller.  People will bid on the job.  We have had numerous customers use this site.  If you do it this way, be sure to insure the trailer before the shipped picks it up.  Liability for damages the trailer might do is covered by the towing vehicle, but the value of the trailer is not.  This is cheap insurance.  Good luck.  There are plenty of commercial shippers out there too.

Shippers will normally charge $1.35-$1.80 per mile just to give you an example.

Dealer window clings and NATM Dealers Committed to Compliance logo usage indicate a commitment to promoting a safer trailer industry and the sale of only trailers manufactured by NATM members..

I would also specify if you are ok/not ok with having other items, including livestock hauled in your trailer.

Excellent point...who knows what a shipper might try to sneak into YOUR trailer during the haul...

I live in Dayton Ohio and had a trailer shipped from Chicago. Cost me about 500 bucks. The dealer's son drove it down. Came in great shape, exactly on time. It was an all around great experience!!!!

There are various pet shipping companies for horse inside US, I haven't shiped horse yet but i heard of Citizenshipper pet transportation company which also ship horses. My friend tell me about them that their driver was very courteous they kept him informed with calls text and pictures of his horse along the way.
Their social rating is also pretty well. That's why i suggest them[Visit site]

And also my one tip is Always visit vet before shipping
