How are the roads leading into the camp?  My friends and I were thinking of trying out Circle E since it is fairly close for us, but someone told my friend that the road into Circle E was a difficult very curvy road.  Is that true?  I do not think my trailer would be a problem, but my friends have a rather large rig (4h with 14ft LQ)and we are concerned.  Thanks for any info!

We spent a terrific weekend there last fall.  Believe it or not I have pictures of the road.  Our son's friend was taking pictures from the back seat of the truck.

RIDE ON!

I couldn't get the second picture to upload.  But that one shows us about to descend a big hill as we were leaving.  It was a pretty good climb getting there and going down made me hold my breath a few times.

RIDE ON!

Thanks for posting the photo.  So it is more an up hill/down hill than curvy road?  That pictuce does show a curve but it does not look too drastic.  Thanks again!

We had the same concern last year. We went in November 2007. We are from North Georgia and choose to go the back way not over Interstate 24 to their road. Once we got there we went down the road that is a 7% grade and our rig is right at 40ft. We felt that the road is really not bad, But mind you it is a haul. Going over Mt. Eagle is 3% grade I believe and alot longer. Their road is about 1 mile of steep grade. If you need the directions please feel free to PM me and I will give you the roads we took.

We were pulling a 14' 4 horse lq when we met up with Dwight and company at Circle E.  It was steep, but it is a good road and paved....we've been on a whole lot worse roads with the rig.

I was there in Oct 07, and there were a few truck tractors pulling trailers.  The road is good, just steep.  13% grade.

Walkin is right the grade is 13% and Mt. Eagle is 6% or 7%. I remember that it was double. The trip is worth the ride. This campground is truly a great one. Hope you plan to go and enjoy it as much as we did

just as everyone says its steep but worth it... going down is not as bad as going up.. i put it in low and let it creep down real slow  28 3h 10'lq.. 05 dodge 3500 pulling it... i stomped it and let the truck do its job going up and next time im pulling it down myself.. the temp guage did not move but it did not kick down until about 40 ft from the top of the hill and stomped it was doing 25mph...a little scary for us..the road is not sharp curves its a good paved road just real steep...   happy trails...
