I have to refinance my horse trailer because it was in mine and my husbands name and he died.

The lender said that was the only way they would put it in my name only.

One of the questions asked is how many feet it is and when I called the place I bought it they said 23 and the application would not accept that.

The trailer is a 2005 4 Star 12' LQ, 3 horse.

Do I measure it from the nose back or from the floor back?

Thanks

It's common in the RV world to measure a trailers overall length from hitch to rear. Horse trailer folks adapted this floor length measurement, and if it's an LQ trailer they just use the measurment of the shortwall, and number of horses. I would think the bank is more familiar with the overall length measurment, due to they finance more RV's than horse trailers. A 12 foot shortwall LQ should be between 33'-35' overall depending upon the stall width.

Here's one, it says 26' on the floor so add the 8' neck and you have 34'. hope this helps. http://www.horsetrailerworld.com/home/trailerdetail.asp?ID=140748

I'm sorry about your loss.
