Most trailers can be custom ordered to have any width you'd like. You'll also need to make sure the floor is beefed up enough to handle drafts if that's what you plan on hauling. Several of our posters have stated in the past that used trailers designed to haul drafts/warmbloods have floor issues.

the manufacture that built my trailer said i could make the stalls as big or small as i wanted. but personal experience has lead me to believe that the more room a horse has the more likely they are to do something stupid like try to turn around etc.

Hey it's fun to open the door and find the young one facing the wrong way! I would worry that the drop down door would be CRAZY heavy and more inviting to the wild ones that like to leap out through the windows.

I haul 2500 lbs drafts in 32.5" wide stalls as do most draft people i know. most of the horse vans are set up to haul 3 abreast and are 102 wide, with an inch for each of the two dividers and and inch for each of the walls, that is all that is left when you subtract it from 102 inches which is the maximum legal width. They haul better especially when it is warm in 48 inch stalls, but but i would not go much bigger than that unless you go to a full box stall. The real issue you will run into for bigger horses is stall length, you just cant get a trailer wide enough in a slant load to haul big horses, unless they are so slanted that it is basically a straight load trailer

Around my area... Logan and Trails West have larger trailers on the lots. These are considered "warmblood" sizes though. Draft trailers would be a "custom" order I am sure of it. Never have I seen a draft horse trailer around these parts. I am on line looking all the time at trailers for sale..... and never do i run across a trailer made for the drafts.

Maybe get a 7'6" tall 4 horse trailer that is a slant load gooseneck and remove two of the dividers? That way you have a two horse slant for your two drafts?

You can order a wider trailer, 7'6 or 8' wide. That will make your slants longer.
Hawk and Cimarron offer affordable custom WB features. Slants up to 50" wide.
