Hi All! My RV plug (from the trailer) is getting hot when it's plugged in to a brand new RV plug at my barn- it's also done the same thing at RV spots. My quesiton is this- is it better to replace just the plug, or should I replace the whole cord with plug... there is nothing wrong with my cord- my trailer is a 2002 4-Star. The cord does NOT get hot- just right at the plug. Thanks for any input!!!

The plug should not be the standard 15a residential plug.....you might have to change the receptacle at the building to accept the proper plug.... check with someone who is knowledgeable about electricity before proceeding. You could overload the existing circuit .

Likely the wire or connections at the plug are breaking down. Cutting a few inches off and putting a new plug on will solve your problems. Be sure you are wiring it exactly as the old plug.
