Hello all,
We have a trailer in our backyard. Last day I was watering my horse, but the water was brown in color. I happened to know that it's because of rust or sediment after reading this article http://www.advancedplumbing.ca/blog/general-category/possible-cause... My mother said that it's okay to give the horse the rusty water since they eat grass with dirt in it. But I am not very sure about it. Is it recommendable to give horse the rusty water??

I have rusty water at times and it is messy and stinks. I am told it is safe to drink but I choose not to do so....... as do my horses. So, it is likely safe for the horses but I doubt they drink it.

Ask your mother if she would drink it.....  I'm really funny about clean water, buckets and troughs.... Clorox Bleach is my friend.

No, I'd only allow it to be drunk by the horses if it was filtered or allowed to settle in a tank allowing the sediments to fall out.
