I'm interested in getting an awning when I order a new BP trailer (still determining which brand/model 3h bp)?  I am also trying to decide if slide in plex on the rear and back side or other kind of windows. I know I want drops on the head side.  I have an older, but still nervous horse that I have to trailer for 6+ hours when we have a hurricane evacuation.  I want a much cooler AND much quieter trailer than our rattling Calico slant with stock sides.  I was wondering if an awning causes extra noise or cause any extra vibration or movement.  I will probably be getting a galv steel trailer to pull with my f250.  Any comments would be appreciated.

I have never noticed my awning make any noise when driving through camp with the windows down on the truck.  If you get an awning over 18 ft in length, you might want to make sure you have a center support.  This will help to eliminate any excess shaking and movement.  All in all, I don't think an awning will make a noticable difference in sounds for your horse.
